Paul Anthony Poulson, beloved son of Chestine Vinessa Poulson and Robert Bagwell, was born on February 8, 1955 in Onancock, Virginia. He departed this life on Tuesday morning, June 28, 2016 at his residence in Onancock “Bayside,” Virginia. He had lived his entire life here on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Paul attended the schools of Accomack County and was a graduate of Onancock, Virginia. He was a loving, gentle man who cared deeply for his family, friends, and coworkers. Paul was married to the Rev. Jacqueline Perkins and together they worked to provide a home where love would abide. He had a pleasant sense of humor that endeared him to those around him. He was especially careful to recognize and support positive activities. Paul was a member of Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Onancock, Virginia. He was equally supportive of activities at his wife’s church, St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church in Daugherty, Virginia. Because he cultivated friendships among diverse groups of people, he welcomed a varied group of visitors and caregivers. Paul trusted God throughout his illness and he also sought and respected the prayers of others. Paul appreciated good singing and would often compare soloists and group performances. He was one who invited the presence of the Holy Spirit through songs. We will truly miss him. Surviving him today are the following: Nyaha Gibbs, Robin Pettit and Wanda Nichols, Jesse Poulson, Loretta White, Nellie Fisher, and Bessie Owens, Joyce Ayers, Spencer, Ayres, Cynthia Toppin, Dorey Long, Fran Windless, and Mary Hamilton, Paul Hamilton and a great host of other relatives and friends.
