Mr. Paul Dean Warren, age 70, a lifelong resident of Washington County, VA passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010 in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 6, 1940 in Washington County, VA a son of the late William Turner Warren and Lottie Pauline Mitchell Warren. Mr. Warren lived all of his life in the area, the only time he left Washington County was to work at the Capitol Building in Washington, DC however he returned back home every weekend. He was a carpenter and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a founding member of the Brumley Gap Fire Department. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Jessie Knox, Vernie Price and Faye Warren.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Davenport Warren of the home; one son, Darrell Warren and wife, Judy of Meadowview; one daughter, Crystal Hayden and husband, Andrew of Abingdon; five grandchildren, Sarah Warren, Stephen Warren, Sabrina Warren, Ashley Spiva and Beth Hayden; one great grandchild; two step-grandchildren, Shannel Hayden and Johann Hayden; two step great grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Warren and wife, Linda of Cleveland, VA; eight sisters, Winnie Warren of Bristol, VA, Joyce Morris and husband, Kenneth of Hayters Gap, Ida Widener and husband, James of Abingdon, Ellie Traverse and husband, Sam of Castlewood, Jo Avent of Lebanon, Ruby Coalson and husband, Bill of Abingdon, Sandy Woodward and husband, Jim of Abingdon and Susie Clatterbuck and husband, Gary of Abingdon and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M., Sunday, July 25, 2010 in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Roger O’Quinn and the Rev. Fred Reynolds will officiate. Music will be provided by the Frankie Wilson family. Burial will follow at the Counts Cemetery in Brumley Gap. Active pallbearers will be Ray Warren, Brian Warren, Michael Davenport, Bob Helton, Billy Perry and William Alexander. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday evening at the Frost Funeral Home.
