Rudolph Santos Obituary

Rudy Santos, born to Isidor and Felis (Olivas) Santos on October 24, 1950, passed peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Rudy was blessed with a life of love and laughter. A 1969 graduate of St. Gerard High School, Rudy found his passion in working for Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #142 for 32 years. He'd have continued working many more had his health allowed. His family and friends, blessed by his guidance and grace, mourn his loss and rejoice in his peaceful journey Home. Rudy is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby; brother-in-law, Billy Covell. Survivors: Debbie Fischer Santos, his wife of 42 years; son, Christopher Santos; and beloved dog Sadie: brothers, Richard (Cheryl), Henry (Sherry), Charlie (Julie); sisters, Dolores Santos, Diane Santos, and Mary Ellen Covell; in laws, Monroe and Dorothy Fischer; Matthew (Denise) Fischer; Diane (Paul) Lindsey; numerous nieces and nephews. Mostly it is loss that teaches us about the worth of things. What was the worth of a size 13 shoe, a boisterous laugh, or a joker's soul? What was the worth of 6 foot 4 inches tall, an always clean floor, or rooting for players wearing silver and black or burnt orange? It was all worth the memories his family and friends will carry, and more love than he probably ever could have known. Grief is the price we pay for love, and Rudy is worth every tear, and every moment of pain and sadness we are feeling. He is deeply loved and missed.
