Donald Gene Dockery, 81, passed away August 6, 2016 in Groesbeck, Texas. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 8, 2016 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Dr. Johnny Pearson officiating. Interment will follow in the Lost Prairie Cemetery. Mickey Cook, Cecil George, Erick Price, Michael Dockery, Robert Sandifer and Richard Sandifer will serve as pallbearers. Brandon Dockery will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Monday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Donald was born in Personville, Texas on August 22, 1934 to James Moses and Martha Carter Dockery. He has lived in Limestone County his entire life. He was a mechanic for Limestone County Road and Bridge Department for 16 years, prior to retiring. Donald was a loving husband, father and grandfather; enjoyed spending time with his family. Donald will be remembered as a hard worker and an honest man. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lanette Dockery; brothers, Ronald and James Dockery; sisters, Hazel Parsons, Ruth Simone; Jo Ann McMahon, Mary Ferguson, Edith Hammonds and Frances Ferguson. Donald is survived by his wife, Minnie Ola Dockery of Mexia; four children, Donald W. Dockery of Waco, Kenneth C. Dockery of Dayton, Tammy Price and husband, Darrell of Teague, Teresa Little and husband Randy of Groesbeck; three grandsons; two granddaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Benjiman Dockery; and numerous nieces and nephews.
