Lorene A. Schievelbein, age 89 of La Vernia, Texas went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2016. Lorene was born on September 9, 1926 in La Vernia to Albert Doege and Elsie (Ermel) Doege. On September 23, 1950, she married Charlie Schievelbein at Christ Lutheran of Elm Creek. They had been married 47 years when he passed away on New Year’s Eve, 1997. Lorene was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran of Elm Creek Church and worked as a seamstress in manufacturing. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie; brother, Raymond Doege; sister-in-law, Helen Doege; brothers-in-law, Bernie Brietzke, Albert Dylla and Adolph Zigmond. She is survived by sisters, Ruby Brietzke, Dorothy Bachman, Willie Mae Dylla, and Mary Jo Streets and husband, Jody; brother, Milton Doege; sister-in-law, Patsy Doege; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
