Services for Mr. James Ray Brand, 55, of Fruitvale, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Riverside Mission Church with Bro. Donnie Herring and Bro. Ronnie Wheeler officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline. Interment will be in Starr Cemetery. Mr. Brand passed away May 21, 2016, in a Tyler hospital. He was born March 7, 1961, in Terrell to Billy Ray & Virginia Ruth Wheeler Brand. He was a lifelong resident of Van Zandt County where he was a member of Riverside Mission Church. He was a technician for TxDOT for 19 years. James was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Ruth "Dink" Wheeler Brand. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Trena Harley Brand of Fruitvale; father, Billy Ray Brand of Grand Saline; son and daughter-in-law, James Russell & Michelle Brand of Fruitvale; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie Lynn & Teddy Williams of Brownwood; seven grandchildren, Stephon, Jazmine, Harlie, Hunter, JaKayla, JaQuayla and Adrien; God-daughter, Taylor Hastings; and numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Red Moore, Josh Glidewell, Jerry Wheeler, Randy Carter, Jesse Brister, Josh Rush, Glynn Brown and Rodney Douglas. Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Hastings, TxDOT family, Riverside Mission Church family and Superbowl Speedway family. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
