Graveside services for Jackie L. Carter, 67, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Myrtle Springs Cemetery with Bro. Brad Williams officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline. Mrs. Carter passed away July 17, 2016 at a Tyler hospital. She was born August 23, 1948, in Kansas to Ray & Minnie Dowdy Jennings. She lived in many places while following her father’s job in the oil field. She married Riley Carter in 1986 and they lived many years in Longview before moving to Grand Saline in 2009. She worked as a cafeteria manager for Pine Tree ISD. She was a member of New Horizons Assembly of God Church, loved teaching children’s church and was a big supporter of Teen/Life Challenge. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Bill, Kenneth and Danny Jennings. Survivors include her husband, Riley Carter of Grand Saline; son, Terry Lynn Gilstrap and wife Sharon of Jacksonville; two daughters, Tressa Goodman and husband Billy of Jacksonville and Tracie Cussano and husband Tony of Canton; brother, Bob Jennings of Kansas; ten grandchildren, Austin, Chase, Katlin and Hunter Gilstrap, Mike, Tanner and Bobby Goodman, and Tony, Krista and Alyssa Cussano; and numerous other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
