Wilma June McCann ARLINGTON -- Wilma June McCann passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016, in Arlington. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Saturday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas 76013. June was born Nov. 28, 1933, in Meridian, Miss., to T.M. and Flora Jones. In 1953, she married Willis Ren "Sonny" Dority Jr. She and Sonny had two daughters, Karen and Beverly. After his untimely death in 1958, June continued to live in Mississippi and care for her daughters as well as her mother and grandmother. In 1967 she relocated to Arlington where she raised her two girls and created a home that was the center of many family gatherings. June was the ultimate caregiver for her mother, her grandchildren and numerous others who affectionately refer to her as "Mommy June." June was also preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Gloria Shumate. Survivors: Daughters, Karen (Larry) McFarland and Beverly (Kyle) Dunn; grandchildren, Taylor (Katie), Drew (Jeanetta), Matt and Jared (Laura); great-grandchild, Beckett; sister, Fredna McCann; and many loving nieces and nephews.
