ARLINGTON -- Glendon Wayne "Glen" Rose Sr., 86, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, in Arlington. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with Rev. Bobby Bridges officiating. Graveside service: 3 p.m. Thursday in Haven of Memories, Canton. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Glen was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Commerce to Herschal C. Rose and Maurine Kansas Sims Rose. He was raised in Dallas and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. An Arlington resident for over 40 years, he was a member of The Church of Christ. Glen retired as a co-owner with Larry Wood of First Land Title Company in Fort Worth. He also worked at other title companies in the Fort Worth area. He then served as a landman in South Texas for several years with his son, Glen. He enjoyed hunting on his ranch in Young County. Glen was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing at Ridglea Country Club in Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Joe William Pickens; and brother, Kenneth Rose. Survivors: Wife, Marie Rose; sons, Glen Rose Jr. and Cary Rose; daughter, Mary Kathleen Brown and husband, Baylor; sister, Patsy Rose Hagar and husband, James; grandchildren, John Cary Rose, Jennifer Michelle Rankey, Joe William Rose, Glendon Wayne Rose III, Chad Edward Lee Rose, Lindsey Marie Brown, Natalie Marie Rose and Baylor Gene Brown Jr.; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Jason, Glen IV, Myka, Ashlyn, Raelee, Ede, Brazos, Levi, Aaron and James; and a host of other family and friends.
