ARLINGTON -- Curtis Edwin Clegg Jr., 95, passed away on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, in Arlington. Celebration of life: Memorial celebration of life at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Barnabas United Methodist Church, 5011 W. Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington, with Dr. Clifton Howard, Rev. Virginia Bassford and Dr. Luther Henry officiating. Interment: At a later date in Boyd Cemetery, Wise County. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. Curtis was born on Nov. 2, 1920, in Hopewell, Miss., to Curtis Edwin Clegg Sr. and Toska Von Steinkirsch Clegg. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. Curtis married Charleen Daniell on Feb. 12, 1955. He was a longtime educator and engineering teacher, having taught at Arlington State College, Keller High School and Trinity High School. Curtis was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Charleen Daniell Clegg, in 2004; and sisters, Ernestine Caire and Theresa Holsopple. Survivors: Daughter, Charlotte Sue Clegg Carlton and husband, Kenneth Alan; son, Ned Webster and wife, Mary; grandchildren, Kenny Carlton and wife, Sherry, Matthew Webster, Andrew Webster and wife, Cherise, and Elizabeth Gamble and husband, Drew; and great-grandchildren, Ella Gamble, Smith Webster and Travis Olson.
