Ethel Eileen Patterson November 30, 1921 ~ August 18, 2016 Ethel Eileen Patterson, 94, of Seguin, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Warm Springs Specialty Hospital in Luling Tx. She was a resident of Seguin Assisted Living and a member of First Baptist Church of Seguin, Tx. Ethel was born November 30, 1921 in Kansas. Ethel and Clarence were married by a justice of the Peace at the Brazoria County Courthouse in Angleton, Tx in 1939. They were married for 69 years. In Orchard, Tx Ethel was a housewife and mother to son “Pat” in 1941. They moved to Texas City in 1946. Ethel went to work for Monsanto Chemical Company as a Lab Technician. On April 16, 1947 at she was injured when the ship, SS Grandcamp exploded at the docks in Texas City. Ethel and her sister Nadine both survived the explosion but her borther-in-law did not. In May of 1952 Ethel and Clarence were blessed with their daughter Wanda. They moved to Rockdale Tx in 1954 were Clarence worked for Alcoa Aluminum. She went to school to become a beautician where she worked as one for many years in Rockdale. She also worked as a Dental Assistant. About 1969 she received a teaching degree from Mary Hardin Baylore. She taught the second grade at Rockdale Elementary for 19 years. After retirement, Ethel and Clarence moved to Seguin, Tx to be near their daughter and son-in-law. They loved to take family vacations. They were able to visit most of the US, many countries and took several cruises. Ethel was a small lady with a great love for her family. She overcame many serious illnesses over the years and lived a long productive life. She was a great example to those she met and her love for the Lord Jesus Christ was obvious to all she met. She is preceded in death by parents Leston and Rosa Wall, husband Clarence Patterson, brother Bert Wall, and sister Nadine Ramzy. She is survived by son Clarence “Pat” Patterson and wife Helen, daughter Wanda Ruth Lively and husband Gayland, grandchildren; Eric Layton Patterson and fiancée Ann Logan, Chad Everett Patterson and wife Jessia, Erin Renee Kaiser and husband Mark, and Jason Clint Lively and wife Colleen. She also leaves behind great grandchildren; Katie Kaiser, Allen Kaiser, Claire Kaiser, Spencer Patterson, Carter Lively, and Emmett Lively. The family will welcome friends for a time of visitation Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. until service time at Palms Funeral Home located at 2300 East Mulberry Angleton, Texas 77515 (979) 849-4343. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. Grace Memorial Cemetery located at 10708 HWY 6, Hitchcock, Tx. Serving as pallbearers will be; Eric Patterson, Chad Patterson, Jason Lively, Mark Kaiser, Blake Murrhee, and Gayland Lively. Services lovingly fulfilled by the dedicated staff at Palms Funeral Home.
