TOMMY THORNLEY Obituary

Tommy Delbert Thornley 85, of Abilene, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the First Central Presbyterian Church with Dr. Cliff Stewart and Rev. Janice Six officiating. Burial be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, under the direction of North’s Funeral Home. A visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in North’s Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St. Mr. Thornley was born May 28, 1931 in Abilene, Texas to Charles and Ludi (Wyatt) Thornley. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in the 28th General Hospital Squadron in France. He worked as a purchasing agent for T. S. Lankford from 1956 – 1968. He also worked for Aileen’s for twenty years. He also worked for Wholesale Foods for two years. He was a life-long member of the First Central Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his long-time friends and caregivers, Johnny and Eleonor Hollingsworth of Abilene. Johnny and Eleonor extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of the Big Country and The Oaks at Radford Hills for their wonderful care of Mr. Thornley.
