Dorothy Elaine Deatherage, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the age of 75. Dorothy Elaine Deatherage was born January 5, 1941 in Abilene, Texas to Willis Fletcher “Bill” and Ruth Ann (Blanchard) Rogers. Elaine worked for the Abilene School system in the cafeteria for a number of years. She later worked for Loomas Armored Car as a bookkeeper for a number of years before retiring. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Burl Deatherage, her daughter,Tollie Kay Deatherage, her son, Larry Burl Deatherage; grandparents, Franklin Tilden Blanchard and Edna Mae Crowson Blanchard; her brother, Willis Neil Rogers and sister Carlita Ann Kinard. Her living family include her daughter, Debra Elaine Beber and husband Dan; grandchildren, Amber Gay Ball of Abilene, Emery Rachelle Beber Myers and husband Thomas Paul of Midland, Aubrey Candice Beber of Abilene, Brandon Kyle Deatherage of Dallas and Landon Bryce Deatherage of Garland; great-grandchildren, Thomas Lee and Jackson Burl Myers; her sister, Patsy Sue Holloway of Kingston, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Bennie B. Rogers, Ann Deatherage Johnson and Betty Deatherage Jolly, all of Abilene. Numerous other nephews, nieces and cousins. Special friends John and Lecia Bell and their three children. She will be cremated and her remains will be placed near her husband Burl and son Larry Deatherage’s headstone in Round Mound Cemetery, near Hamby, Texas.
