Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend, Kathleen Slocomb age 99 passed away at her home peacefully with family by her side, Saturday August 27, 2016. A grave side service will be held Tuesday August 30, 2016 at 11am at the Sunset funeral home and Cemetery in San Antonio TX, a visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:30-10:30am, At the Funeral Home. Kathleen was born December 31, 1916 to the parents of Robert And Catti Shinn in McMahan TX, at a young age the family moved to Lockhart TX, and she received her education from Lockhart public schools. Kathleen accepted Christ at an early age and joined and remained a long-time member of the St. Andrews Methodist Church in San Antonio for over 40 years, until she relocated to Corinth TX. She relocated to Corinth TX in 2006, and became a member of the United Trinity Methodist Church in Corinth. Kathleen was a family oriented lady who loved her family and even more she loved God. She was very active in the church in the women's ministry, and volunteering and working anywhere she was asked. Kathleen loved everyone and everyone loved her, she could put a smile on anyone's face. Left to cherish her memories are daughters Becky Carpenter of Corinth, Cattilou Peddy of San Antonio, sister Allie June Rose (Ronald) of San Antonio, granddaughters Colleen Carpenter of Dallas, Tisha Harvey, of Cibilo TX, Grandsons; Brit Carpenter, Scott Carpenter, both of The Colony TX, Mark Perryman, Jonathan Harvey, both of Baton Rouge LA, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of extended family and many friends. Kathleen was preceded in death by parents, sisters; Opal and Sanie, and brother Bobby.
