Elmer McBroon

Elmer Franklin McBroon, age 93, of Loudon, departed this world in peace on June 25, 2016 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. A lifelong resident of Loudon, TN; Elmer was known as a salt of the earth working man and man of fervent prayer who deeply loved his family and his Lord. He was a man who touched many lives from his front porch rocking chair with merely a smile and a wave of the hand. He was a longtime faithful member of Valley View Free Will Baptist Church, where he was known and loved by many. He was married for 68 years to his wife, Juanita (Dee Dee), whom he married on September 2, 1944.He is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita “Dee Dee” (née, Robinson); brother, Joe; sister, Georgia; father, Horace; and mother, Mona Belle. He is survived by brother, Alvin; son, Roy and wife Geneva; daughter, Helen Thomas (née, McBroon) and husband, Joe (deceased); son, Michael and wife Abby; several nieces and nephews, and many grandchildren, great-grandchild, and great-great-grandchildren who knew him affectionately as “Papaw”. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Hence forth, there is a laid up for me a crown of righteousness, with the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2nd Timothy 4:7-8 KJV
