Mr. Johnnie Richard Bennett, Sr. age 87 of the Bethesda Community passed away July 20, 2016 at his home. Johnnie was a longtime resident of Williamson County. He was the co-owner and barber with Jake’s Barbershop. Later he was a farmer for many years. Preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie Dee, Sr. & Beatrice Jay Bennett; son, Johnnie Richard Bennett, Jr.; twin-sister, Rachel Lane and sister, Jewell Denney. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Christine Bennett; sons, Danny (Kathy) Bennett and Tim ( Candy) Bennett all of the Bethesda Community; brothers, Paris Bennett of the Bethesda Community and Jimmie Dee (Mattie Ruth) Bennett of Franklin, TN; sisters, Esther Rainey of Madison, TN and Marie (Otis) Bentley of the Bethesda Community; grandchildren, Danny Bennett, Jr., Brad Bennett, Jessica Sweeney, Crystal Bowman, Tammy Whidby, Dinah Ashworth & Amanda Robison and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 1:00PM Friday, July 22, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Ronnie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Danny Bennett, Jr., Brad Bennett, Danny Lee Bennett, III, Justin Sweeney, Elliott Bowman, Paul Charipar and Jackie Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis Mosley, William B. Marlin and Amy Charipar.
