Edna Smith Phifer

Mrs. Edna Smith Phifer, age 88 of Franklin, TN passed away July 23, 2016. Edna was a blessing from God, a loving wife, and a sweet and joyful mom and grandmother. She was a wonderful example of how to live life. She was a member of Beech Grove United Methodist Church in Whites Creek, TN. A graduate of Litton H.S. and a School Patrol Mother. She was employed with Nashville Memorial Hospital for 29 years in purchasing and dietary. Chairman of the Board for the Hospital Credit Union. Preceded in death by her son, Calvin Kenneth Phifer Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Calvin K. Phifer; daughter, Mary Ann Fowlkes; brother, John (Jan) Smith; grandchildren, Michelle (Brad) Garrett, Kenneth Fowlkes and Leslie Ann (Cody Blihovde) Fowlkes; great grandchildren, Josie Garrett and Avery Mae Blihovde. Services will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral home. Visitation will be held 4-6 PM on Monday prior to the service. Burial at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Grandchildren and nephews to serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Purple Heart Women’s Auxiliary or the Beech Grove United Methodist Church, 4318 Brick Church Pike, Whites Creek, TN 37189.
