Leo Birkholm

Leo H. Birkholm, age 78 of Baxter, Tennessee passed from this life Friday, July 29, 2016, at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville. Leo was born Monday, April 11, 1938 in Askov, Minnesota to the late Axel and Agnus (Henrickson) Birkholm. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years service, and then worked 20 years with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Leo is survived by his wife of 37 years: Rosemary (Strain) Birkholm of Baxter, TN 3 Sons and spouses: Merton and Dani Haack of Buffalo Valley, TN Michael and Ann Haack of Big Pine Key, FL Mark Haack of Baxter, TN 5 Grandchildren: Haley and Teddy Knowles of Key West, FL Kelley and Rush Multz of Key West, FL Christopher Haack of Big Pine Key, FL Kara and Steve Cunningham of Alabama Kimberly and Justin Adams of Dickson, TN Mother of Haley and Kelly Haack: Karen (Leapold) Haack 1 Sister: Astrid Morgan of Wyoming 2 Sister-in-law: Evelyn Birkholm of Askov Betty Birkholm of Waconia, MN His best friend Rocky In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: 3 Brothers: Earling, Roy, and Gilbert. Funeral services for Leo will be held Wednesday August 3, 2016 beginning at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Buddy Reed officiating. Interment with full Military Honors will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery . The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday August 3, from 12:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm.
