Thomas Anderson Hightower, 63, husband of Gloria Hightower, died Saturday at Palmetto Health-Tuomey.
Born in Orangeburg, he was a son of the late Ernest Robert Hightower and the late Ruth Brickle Hightower. Mr. Hightower was a member of First Baptist Church Orangeburg. He was a graduate of Orangeburg High School and attended Wingate College, and College of Charleston. Thomas retired from Lowes Stores and later was a property manager for Public Storage.
Survivors besides his wife include one daughter, Kimberly Baker Harrelson (Rhett); one sister, Anna Ruth Young of Columbia; one brother, Ernest Hightower, Jr. of Columbia; a special niece, Wendy Godwin Barnes (Davy) of Islandton; several nephews; and some very special friends, Carol and Mike Bond and Windell Rodgers all of Sumter and Rollie Huffstetler of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Delane Hightower Godwin of Orangeburg.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Eulogy given by Windell Rodgers and Sarah Elizabeth Hasbrouck.
