Ollie Hodge Obituary

Ollie Huggins Hodge, 82, husband of Mary Cockerill Hodge, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at his home. Born January 23, 1934, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Harmon Patrick Hodge and the late Camilla Stone Hodge. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church. He was a Mason, a retired truck driver and retired poultry farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife of 60 years; a sister, Sarah L. Moore (David) of Hurst, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lynwood Hodge and Leslie Hodge; and a sister, Annette Hurst. Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Friday at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Pat Coffey, the Rev. Tom Vassar, and Pastor Wayne McElveen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, 2445 Old Manning Rd., Sumter, SC 29150. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
