Joyce Ford Glasscock, 75, wife of Marion Stevenson “Steve” Glasscock, Sr., died Monday, August 08, 2016, at Palmetto Health Baptist in Columbia. Born October 6, 1940, in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late George Herbert Ford and the late Mary Bochette Ford. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 53 years; four children, Charissa Glasscock Lannan of Sumter, Vanessa Bataille (Jamie) of FL, Marion S. Glasscock, Jr. (Lisa) of Sumter, and Moneeca Glasscock of TX; six grandchildren, Chelsea Glasscock, Camron Langley, Collin Langley, Hannah Leverette, Courtney Leverette, and Chris Leverette; two sisters, Earline Cromer (W.L.) and Jaqueline Ardis both of Sumter; a brother, Robert Ford of Camden; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Roscoe Ford, Clinton Ford, and Burtell Ford; and three sisters, Betty Jo Davis, Patricia Boykin, and Darkis Powers. Funeral services will be held at 4 P.M. Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 P.M. Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 735 Henderson St. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
