Carolyn Sheppard

Carolyn Mizzell Sheppard, 66, wife of Chris Sheppard, departed Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at her residence. Born on June 27, 1950, in Moncks Corner, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Mildred Mizzell of Moncks Corner. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Dannie and Cora Lee Sheppard of Bennettsville, SC. Carolyn was a graduate of Berkley High School in Moncks Corner. She was an honored member of Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church in Sumter. She has served in many capacities in her church throughout the years. She was the past President of the Ladies Auxiliary and the director of Vacation Bible Schools. She and her husband, Chris, formed the gospel singing group, The Singing Sheppards. Together they spread the gospel of Jesus over the eastern coast for more than 47 years. She is survived by her husband, Chris, and her three children, Wynn Sheppard (Leanne). Tina Sheppard Leviner, and Shannon Sheppard (Linda Fay). She is also survived by five grandchildren, Sydney Sheppard, Dakota Sheppard, Hunter Sheppard, Caitlin Sheppard, and Chloe Sheppard. Her surviving brothers are Donnie Mizzell of Gainesville, GA, and Stevie Mizzell and David Mizzell both of Moncks Corner. Additional surviving relatives are brother-in-law, Larry Dean Sheppard (Linda) of Lexington, SC and sister-in-law, Valory Sheppard Ransom of Laurinburg, NC. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday at Green Acres Assembly of God. Burial will be in the Green Acres Cemetery The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Saturday at Greens Acres Assembly of God.
