Barbara Peebles

Barbara Geraldine Stafford Peebles, 76, widow of Lewis Mackie Peebles, died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at a local nursing facility. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Lynn Stafford and the late Geraldine Touchberry Stafford. Mrs. Peebles was a member of Northside Memorial Baptist Church. She retired form NBSC. Survivors include one son, David Peebles (Shannon) of Sumter; one daughter, Alison Peebles of Florence; two grandchildren, Garrett Peebles and Ryan Peebles; and one sister, Elsie Stafford LeMaster. A Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Drew Choate officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Elmore-Canon-Stephens Funeral Home. The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the care extended to Mrs. Peebles by the Magnolia Hall staff of NHC Healthcare-Sumter. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
