Marguerite Crowley

Marguerite L. (Cardinal) Crowley, 89, beloved wife for 66 years of Charles J. Crowley, of Croft Court, Pawcatuck, passed away at her home on August 15, 2016. Born in Westerly, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Sarah Cardinal. Marguerite was the owner and operator of Maggie’s for many years. She was a devout communicant of St. Michael Church where she also was a past president of the Ladies Guild. In addition she was a member of the crafters at St. Michael’s and a member of the Downtown Business Assoc. Mrs. Crowley will be dearly missed by three children, Fr. Michael Crowley of S. Portland, ME, Fr. Brendan Crowley of Chicopee, MA and Karen Crowley Abston of Pawcatuck. She also leaves eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Marguerite was predeceased by a daughter Charlene Crosby. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4-6pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Funeral Liturgy will take place at St. Mary’s Church, 95 Main St., Stonington on Monday at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck.
