Wesley L. Ott, Sr., 84, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Monday, October 3, 2016. He was born on February 6, 1932, in Shippensburg, a son of the late Benjamin and Augusta Mae Holtry Ott. Wesley married Mary Ellen Lautsbaugh on June 16, 1952. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2007. Wesley worked construction for Herre Bros., Harrisburg. He enjoyed NASCAR, rides in the mountain, and camping in his younger years. Wesley liked to work in his large garden with help from his family and you could often find him at home reading a western book or watching an old western movie. He is survived by five sons, Wesley L. (Donna) Ott, Jr., Gary L. (Heidi Cox) Ott, Roy G. (Deborah) Ott, Michael R. (Annette) Ott, all of Shippensburg, and George F. (Sue) Ott of Baldwinsville, NY; two daughters, Carol A. (Larry) Krall of Shippensburg and Christine L. (Kenneth) Helm of Newburg; three sisters, Hazel Johns, Sally Ott, and Nellie Hale, all of Shippensburg; twenty one grandchildren; thirty five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and spouse, Wesley was preceded in death by one granddaughter, two brothers, and one sister. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, October 7, 2016, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Interment will follow in the Westminster Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Friday morning at the funeral home.
