Robert J. “Bob” Bilger, 65, of Shippensburg, died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. Born Monday, June 4, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late William F. and Catherine E. Goloff Bilger. Robert was of the Catholic Faith. He was a 1970 graduate of Edison High School in Philadelphia. Robert was a United States Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot where he worked as an Electronics Technician. Robert was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Durff –Kuhn VFW Post # 6168 where he served as Junior Vice Commander, member of the Marching Unit and the dart league, member of the Moose Lodge # 2500, all in Shippensburg. Robert was also a member of the AMVETS #224 in Chambersburg. Bob loved hunting, fishing, bonfires, cookouts, music, and darts. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Deborah J. Hustus Bilger; two sons, Daniel N. (wife Maria) Bilger, and Paul F. Bilger, all of Shippensburg; one daughter, Rhonda M. (husband Mike) Smith, Willow Hill; three brothers, Joseph F. (wife Sherrie) Bilger, Walnut Bottom, John J. (wife Monica) Bilger, Willow Hill, and William M. Bilger, Shippensburg; two sisters, Madeline C. (husband Ronald) McBeth, Walnut Bottom, and Kathleen E. Diehl, Shippensburg, and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, with Pastor Tim Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday, in the funeral home.
