R. Jack Naugle

R. Jack Naugle, 88, of Carlisle and formerly of Shippensburg, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at his home. Born Sunday, June 24, 1928 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Roy C. and M. Ardella Seitz Naugle. Jack was a 1946 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. Jack retired in 1987 from the United States Postal Service with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 and the Cumberland valley Masonic Lodge # 315 both in Shippensburg and a member of the Shippensburg Veterans Council. He was a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon and the Harrisburg Consistory Scottish Rite. Surviving is his wife of 67 years Jeanne D. Meredith whom he married September 16, 1949, one son, R. Scott (wife Diane) Naugle of Harrisburg, one granddaughter, Casey N. (husband Lyle) Estanislao of Nashville, TN, one grandson, Samuel L. Naugle of Harrisburg and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard L. Naugle, one sister, Donna N. Gruver and one infant grandson, Louis Jack Naugle. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Shippensburg Memorial Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Robert Seibold and Rev. Eric N. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shippensburg Memorial Lutheran Church, 34 East Orange Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
