Nellie Robinson

Nellie M. Robinson, 83, a resident of the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, formerly of Lurgan, departed this life on the morning of Saturday, September 24, 2016. Born on November 28, 1932, in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Roy Edward and Ruth Pauline Reeder Armstrong. Nellie married Clifford E. Robinson on April 28, 1951. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2013. Nellie worked as a custodian for the Shippensburg Area School District, where she retired from. She attended the Lurgan United Brethren Church as well as the Oaisis of Love Church. Nellie was known around the area to be excellent at baking, especially pies and sticky buns. She cooked and baked for folks at her church, family, and many friends. She also had a pretty good green thumb, planting almost anything that would grow, and had many beautiful flower beds around her home that she was very meticulous about maintaining. She liked to shop and spending time with her large family was very important to her. She is survived by four sons, Larry D. (Deborah) Armstrong of Shady Grove, Leonard D. (Mandy) Robinson of Fayetteville, Paul E. (Carol) Robinson of Fayetteville, and Dave C. (Michelle) Robinson of Orrstown; three daughters, Bonnie R. (Terry) Sellers of Chambersburg, Linda R. (Nick) Ruggiero of Neelyton, and Grace E. (Mike) Ervin of Orrstown; one sister, Donna Grove of Chambersburg; fifteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Nellie was preceded in death by seven siblings. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Richard E. Mose will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday.
