Donald E. Baer, Jr., 60, of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born Wednesday, August 1, 1956 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Donald E. and Carrie M. Shoemaker Baer, Sr. Donald was a 1975 graduate of the Shippensburg Area senior High School. He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Shippensburg. Donald was presently employed at JLG Industries in Shippensburg. Donald worked for 44 years as a Chef at various Restaurants in Pennsylvania and New York and also worked for the Humane Society in both Pennsylvania and New York. Surviving is one sister, Sylvia Jean (Fiance Denny Drezek) Baer of Chambersburg, one brother, Michael J. Baer of Shippensburg and Robert E. Shoemaker of Orrstown. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker funeral Home & Crematorium, with Mother Barbara A. Hutchison and The Rev. Guy Baer officiating. Burial will be in Mongul Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
