Anna M. Bert, 76, of Shippensburg, entered into eternity on Monday, August 22, 2016 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 24, 1940 in Cleversburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Ailie Ott Proctor. Anna married Lester E. Bert on April 23, 1955 in Hagerstown, MD. They resided in Shippensburg 50 years until his death in 2005. She attended the Ridge Church of the Brethren and the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren. Anna was a long-time bowler in the Peggy Shippen League, an avid bingo player calling bingo at Elmcroft, she enjoyed camping and going to Hollywood Casino. She was a diehard Baltimore Orioles fan and was a social member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, Shippensburg. Anna is survived by two sons, Bill (Mary) Bert of Lancaster, and Michael (Wanda) Bert of Newburg, three grandchildren, Jennifer Bert of Pittsburgh, Adam Bert of Lancaster, and Amanda Daley of Shippensburg, two sisters, Tammy Hoover of Newburg, and Bessie Jones of Shippensburg, one brother, Merrill Varner, Sr. of Shippensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother and husband Anna is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Miranda Bert. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 26, 2016 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Harold E. Yeager. Burial will be held at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
