John J. Hanssens, Sr. (“Jack”) May 5, 1930 - June 29, 2016 The “King” to the Queen Mum, Mary (nee Tracy), her devoted husband of 64 years. They were, and will always be, the love of each other’s lives. As a parent, he was the perfect role model and shining example for his children: Mary Hoffman (Larry), John J. Jr. (Martha), Kathleen Lahneman (Tom), Tricia (Chalie Gabrick), Steve (Corinne Boettger) and Susan (Charles Jay) and Michael (Geri-Lynn). His eyes lit up whenever he saw his dear grandchildren: Larry, Brian (Bridget) , Rob (Julie), Tommy (Christina) , Stephen, Katie (Peter) , Jenn(Jon),Monica (Joe ) , Kevin, Jimmy, Kim (John ), Chrissy, Tyler, Ryan, Brooke, Brett and Olivia. A source of tremendous pride and everlasting joy to “ Papa Jack” were his delightful great-grandchildren: Mikey, Braelyn, Ashlyn, Sean, Ryan, Nathan , Kahlynne, Jane, Joseph, Leila, Grace, Jacob, McKenna, Tommy, Kira, Riley, Eli and Jack. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Cyril (aka “ Frank” ) and Catherine and his two best buddies, his brothers, Frank and Bill (Betsy). He was also pre-deceased by his niece, Mary Elizabeth and sister in law, Teresa, both truly outstanding women. Jack is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he treasured. Relatives, friends and members of St. Christopher’s 50 Plus Club are invited to a visitation Monday, July 11, 2016, from 9:30AM until 11:00 AM at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, immediately followed by his funeral mass at 11:00 AM.
