Fern Hauck Obituary

Fern Violet Hauck, 97, of Frederick and formerly of Red Hill, passed away October 14, 2016. She was the widow of John N Hauck. Born in Red Hill, she was a daughter of the late William and Emma (Erb) Beard. Earlier in life, she was a weaver at the former Red Hill Silk Mill. She was a life-long member of Pennsburg United Church of Christ, where she was a choir member for over 50 years, taught Sunday School, played piano, and was a quilter and active member of the Ladies Aid. She was a 30 year volunteer with the Upper Perkiomen Community Thrift Shop. Fern volunteered with the Upper Perkiomen Meals on Wheels Program for many years. She was a bowler and golfer, having achieved a hole-in-one. Surviving is a daughter: Jacqueline, wife of Clifford Lauchnor, of East Greenville; two grandchildren: Timothy, and his wife Shayne; and Sally, wife of Michael Dougherty; and 3 great-grandchildren: Kelly, Daniel, and Lucas. She was pre-deceased by siblings: Galen, Vincent & Bernard Beard and Ethel Saul. Services will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, at Pennsburg UCC, 775 Main St., Pennsburg. Friends may call from 10-11 AM on Wednesday at the church; and from 6:30-8 PM Tuesday at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 163 Main St., Pennsburg.
