Michael L. (Mike) Shope, 58, of rural Julian passed away at his residence, Saturday, May 7, 2016. Mike was born on June 10, 1957 in Bellefonte, the son of the late Ellsworth E. and Kathryn H. Miller Shope. Mike was employed at the State College Area School District in the janitorial department. Mike was a member of Eagle Heights Bible Church where he was proud being an usher. Mike loved to fish and hunt. He is survived by three sisters, Jean K. (William) Miller of Howard, Judy (Gene) Confer also of Howard, and Joyce (Guy) Albright of State College. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard E. Shope. Funeral services for Mike will be held at Eagle Heights Bible Church, 1426 N. Eagle Valley Road, Howard, PA., Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Stephen R. Hicks, officiating. Family and friends will be received at the church, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. till 11:00 A.M., time of the services.
