Janet Light

Janet M. Light, 83, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Hearthside Rehab. and Nursing Center. Janet was born in Glasgow, Pa. on June 20, 1932, the daughter of the late Rev. Howard Paul and Dora Haas Light. She was a homemaker and a cashier at the Weis Market. She was a member of the Black Oak United Methodist Church. Janet was preceded death by her companion, Robert Pritchard. Janet is survived by her four nieces, Linda Tanner of Texas City, Texas, Marjorie Weakland of Crestwood, KY, Mary Elizabeth Neff of Port Matilda, Dorcas Holt of Julian, and her nephew, Samuel Mason, of Missouri. Also surviving are Robert's children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her companion, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Gertrude Mason, Mary Elizabeth Light, and Lelia Gill. Services will be held at the Black Oak United Methodist Church, Worth Twp., Port Matilda on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Sam Reese officiating. Family and friends will be received at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring Street, Milesburg on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 6 PM until 8 PM and also at the Black Oak United Methodist Church, Route 322, Port Matilda on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 10 AM until 11 AM. Burial will be in the Black Oak Cemetery, Worth Twp., Centre Co. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 123 S. Sparks Street, State College, Pa. 16801 in memory of Janet M. Light. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring Street, Milesburg, Pa.
