Frances "Pat" Hubler Nuernberg Obituary

Age 102, of Upper St. Clair, died on Saturday, September 24, 2016. Beloved Wife of William W. Nuernberg, who died in 2007; Mother of Nancy N. (Roger) Smith of Okemos, MI and William R. Nuernberg (Sean Reichert) of Miami, FL; Grandmother of Jennifer L. (Donald) Bruey of Ann Arbor, MI and Laurie L. Smith of Brighton, MI; Great-Grandmother of Mark and Kevin Bruey. Pat was born on April 3, 1914 in Rebersberg, PA and raised in Mt. Lebanon. The last survivor of the first June class of 1931 from Mt. Lebanon High school, she was later made an honorary member of its first Cum Laude chapter. In 1935, she graduated from Susquehanna University and taught at Independence Township High School in Avella and Scottdale High School until her marriage in 1942. Pat was a charter member of Bower Hill Community Church, where she taught the nursery class; a longtime member and past president of South Hills College Club; a member of Valley Brook Country Club; and an early volunteer at Mayview State Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 8 at 11 a.m. in Friendship Village of South Hills, and her ashes will be interred at the Bower Hill Memorial Garden. Her family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Health Center at Friendship Village for their expertise, patience, and compassion.
