KANE Robert L. Palmer, 74, of 315 Main St. Hazel Hurst, died Sunday (Feb 28) at his residence. He was born Jan. 26, 1942 in Dunkirk, NY the son of the late Benjamin Palmer and Elsie Dilley. He married Donna Chittester, who survives, on Aug. 16, 2000 in Smethport. Mr. Palmer had worked in the oil fields when he was younger and then spent 21 years working at the McKean County Landfill, and then finished his employment years at Kane Hardwood. He had also been an active member of the Hazel Hurst Fire Police. In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Ben Palmer of Bradford, Larry Plamer of FL and Adam Palmer of Smethport; two daughters, Sherri (Kenneth) Spaich of Hazel Hurst and Crystal Conner of Smethport; four brothers, Biff Palmer of TX, William (Renee) Dilley of Warren, James Dilley of Kane and Richard (Chris) Dilley of Kane; many grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one step-son, Paul Kimes of Kane; one step-daughter, Rose Barnes of GA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Scott Palmer and one nephew, Doug Dilley. Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home on Wednesday (March 2) from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Chad Troup, pastor of the First Church of God in Kane, officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
