Emma L. Yasurek KANE Emma L. Yasurek, 93, of 5573 Highland Road, passed away Wednesday (August 10, 2016) at Kane Community Hospital. Born February 28, 1923, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Ross and Emma Bailey Knapp. On November 24, 1945, in Kane, she married John Yasurek who preceded her in death. Mrs. Yasurek was a graduate of Kane High School, Class of 1941 and a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church. She had been previously employed at Stackpole. Most of all, she was the proud mother of 11 children and enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving are five sons, John Jr. (Nora) Yasurek of Ludlow, Daniel (Millie) Yasurek of Wilcox, Steven (Ginger) Yasurek of DeYoung, Richard (Robin) Yasurek and Thomas Yasurek, both of Kane; five daughters, Elaine Bliss, Patricia (William) Hillman , Joan (Mike Stewart) Woods and Lisa (Bob Huber) Springer, all of Kane and Katherine Jerman of Sheffield; 24 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Yasurek of Milton, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband and parents, were a son, Ronald Lee Yasurek; two brothers Kenneth Knapp and Robert Knapp; and a sister, Vivian Haines. Friends will be received today (Friday) from 11:00 am to noon in the gathering space at St. Callistus Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Callistus Cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
