KANE Edna L. Vanerstrom, 83 of 116 Hemlock Ave., died early Monday morning at the Kane Community Hospital. She was born Dec. 30, 1932 in Kane, the daughter of the late Samuel and Geneva (Carlson) Maze. On March 19, 1955 in Kane she married Everett L. Vanerstrom, who preceded her in death. Edna was a past member of the Kane Country Club, Women's Card Club and the Baptist Church and she truly enjoyed sitting around her kitchen table and visiting with family and friends, which she did on a regular basis right up until her final day. She is survived by three daughters, Tina (Derol) Caraco of Calabasas, CA, Sabrina Depto of Kane and Adena "Lynn" Vanerstrom of Waterford; one son, Edward (Tammy) Vanerstrom of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren, Jaco and Codi Caraco, Tara and Lauren Vanerstrom, Edana, Logan and Evan Depto and Brenna and Dalton Houpt; and four great grandchildren, Lucas, Dylan, Charlee and Hannah. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel "Bud" Maze and John Maze. A memorial service will take place Thursday (April 14) at 5:00 p.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the McKean County SPCA.
