Bernard Edwin Speedy KANE Bernard “Bing” E. Speedy, of Ridgway, died Thursday (January 28, 2016) in DuBois. Born June 8, 1940, in Kane, he was a son of the late Edwin and Marian Speedy. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Mague Speedy whom he married January 23, 1960. Bing ‘s career was in Marketing and Sales, most notably with Stackpole Carbon Company, Windfall Products and was the Founder and Principal of Global Marketing. During his career, Bing and Shirley moved often and created friendships that were more like family. Bing’s immediate family appreciated the outpouring of love and support in the last week of his life, especially from special friends and neighbors Frank and Mary Kay Jovenetti. Bing was a longtime member of the Singing Dutchmen and the Elk County Concert Choir. He also was a past member of the Vestry Board of Grace Episcopal Church in Ridgway. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Shirley, are three children, Michelle (Steven) Castrogiovanni of Columbus, OH, Michael (Eva Freels) Speedy of Arlington Heights, IL and Matthew (Kimberly Kosakowski) Speedy of Naperville, IL; Grandchildren, Steven “Rory” Castrogiovanni, Catherine “Kate” Speedy, Sophia “Sophie” Speedy, Rachel Speedy and Megan Speedy; sisters, Melissa (Harold) Suain, Jeanette Smith and brother, Bill (Margie) Speedy; sisters-in-law, Patricia Nelson, Debbie Speedy and brother -in-law, Dr. Richard (Jodi) Mague. Also surviving are 27 nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Besides his parents, Bing was preceded in death by his brother, Wally Speedy; his father-in -law and mother-in-law, Wayne and Alma Mague; brothers-in-law Wayne Mague, Jr., Paul Nelson; sister-in-law Naomi Mague; and nephew, Adam Nelson. Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. 151 Greeves St., Kane, PA 16735 on Sunday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and Monday from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with the Rev. Alan Coudriep, pastor of Grace Episcopal Church in Ridgway, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Camp JJ, Inc., PO Box 446, Bradford, PA 16701 or Gloria Anderson Scholarship, Elk County Community Foundation (ECCF) , 32 So. , St. Marys Street ,Suite 4, PO Box 934, St. Marys, PA 15857.
