George Charles (Badger) Trevorrow, age 77, Waynesburg, Pa., died Saturday April 17, 2010 at his son’s home in Indiana, Pa. George was born April 27, 1932 in Greensboro, Pa., the son of the late George Trevorrow Sr. and Mary Wert Trevorrow. He grew up in Dormont, Pa. George excelled in athletics in high school, and graduated from Penn State University in 1955 with a Degree in Mining Engineering; the third generation to enter the Mining Industry. He served 2 years in the U. S. Army in Germany. His mining career spanned over 40 years. He was an early adopter of Long Wall Mining. His positions included: General Manager at Barnes and Tucker Mines in Northern Cambria, Pa., Vice President and General Manager at Greenwich Collieries in Northern Cambria. He held the same position at Cyprus Emerald Resources in Waynesburg, Pa. and Cyprus Plateau Mines in Price, Utah. George enjoyed camping, exercising, gardening, home brewing with his friends. He was an avid reader and trivia buff. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Helen Kamenos, one son Tom Trevorrow, M.D. (Kathy), Indiana, 2 grandchildren: John and Danny, sister, Dr. Nancy Carbonara, Pittsburgh, and brother Joseph Trevorrow, Huntsville, Alabama. Friends will be received in the Lesako Funeral Home INC., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Pa. (724-966-5100), Paul M. Lesako Funeral Director/Supervisor on Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 10 to 11 a.m. The Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Harold O. Kelley, officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, Pa.
