Bruce MacIssac Obituary

Bruce MacDonald MacIsaac, 55, of Indiana, died at his home, Wednesday morning, September 28, 2016. Born in Syracuse, NY, he was a son of the late Bettye Ann (Huntley) MacIsaac who died in 1974 and Donald M. MacIsaac who with his wife, Joyce live in Marchand. He was the husband of Beth (Meltzer) MacIsaac, whom he married June 18, 2008. Bruce earned an Associate’s Degree as a systems analyst at the former Computer Systems Institute of Pittsburgh. He became a computer analyst at West Virginia University. He also owned and operated a computer business and wireless internet business. Bruce became a truck driver so he could see our beautiful country first hand. Following the onset of his illness, he worked closer to home for the Pittsburgh Lyft and Uber taxi services. Bruce was a man of many talents. He was a licensed air pilot and ordained minister; he wrote political columns on Yahoo and hosted a local political radio call in show. Bruce enjoyed writing poetry and sharing it with his family and friends. He also had a published book “Poems” with some of his talented work. Bruce spent a great deal of time giving back to others what had been given to him. He will be remembered as a wonderful father, husband, son, son-in-law and friend. In addition to his wife, Beth and his father and step-mother, Don and Joyce, he is survived by his daughter Olivia MacIsaac, Hilton Head Island, SC; step-daughters, Jaime and Kate O’Brien; father-and mother-in-laws, Allan and Marilyn Meltzer, Pittsburgh; step-sister, Sue Neufeld Makarechian & husband, David, Los Gatos, CA; step-brother, Todd Neufeld and wife, Jackie, Punxsutawney; and nephew, Justin Wilkinson and wife, Wendy, Mechanicsburg; brother-in-law, Bruce Meltzer and wife, Nancy Cooper, Massachusetts and brother-in-law, Eric Meltzer and wife, Ann King, Radnor. Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Bettye Ann (Huntley) MacIsaac; sister, Jennifer MacIsaac and half-brothers, Jeffrey King and Tim King. A memorial service will be held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Indiana on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Evergreen Boys & Girls Clubs of Indiana County, 799 Old Route 119 HWY North, Indiana, PA 1570. The MacIsaac Family is being assisted by the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana.
