Alexander Lezark

Alexander Paul Lezark, 77, of Indiana, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at St. Andrew’s Village, Indiana. Born in Reynoldsville, June 4, 1939, he was a son of the late, Andrew J. Lezark, Sr. and Irene (Szentmiklosi) Lezark. Alex was the husband of Nancy Josephine (Maruschak) Lezark whom he married June 2, 1962. They had recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Alex was a graduate of Penns Manor High School and Point Park University where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1961. He was in the Sixth Fleet aboard the USS Steinaker where he was a Radarman 2nd Class Petty Officer. He was a Systems Analyst at the Alcoa Technical Center in New Kensington for nearly 25 years, retiring in 1996. Alex loved the outdoors, especially the many creeks, streams and waterways where he fished. He was an avid fly fisherman who tied and made his own fly lures. He also enjoyed following college football, especially, Notre Dame, Penn State and Carnegie Mellon. Two of his most memorable trips he took with his wife were to Acadia National Park in Maine and Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. He was a member of St. Thomas More University Parish, Indiana. Alex also belonged to the Blackleggs Trout Nursery & Watershed Association, Trout Unlimited, he volunteered for Stream Team and was this year’s Volunteer of the Year with the Evergreen Conservancy. In addition to his wife, Alex, is survived by his children: Patrick Alexander Lezark and wife, Elizabeth, Skokie, IL and Sandra Eileen Marjan and husband, Bob, Wheaton, IL. His granddaughters are: Katie and Lauryn Lezark, Skokie, IL and step grandchildren: Christine Malinowski and Rob and Anna Marjan. Alex is survived by siblings: Frank Lezark and wife, Margaret, Garden Valley, CA and Patricia Krentsa & husband, Robert, Ontario, NY. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and the following siblings: Barbara, Emery and Andrew Lezark. Friends will be received Friday, July 15th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10 AM at St. Thomas More University Parish, Indiana. Rev. Andres Gumangan, celebrant. A private burial will be made at St. Patrick Cemetery at Camron Bottom, Heilwood. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to: Evergreen Conservancy, P.O.
