Melissa Conley Obituary

Melissa L. Conley, 36, of Las Vegas and formerly of Middletown, passed away after a long battle with lupus on Monday, September 5, 2016. Born in Harrisburg on July 8, 1980, she was the daughter of Michelle L. (Peiffer) Jumper of Middletown and Nevin B. Conley, Jr. of York. She is also survived by her step fathers, Leo H. Gipe husband of Bev and Steve A. Jumper both of Middletown. Melissa was previously employed at Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg, while she was pursuing her nursing studies. She was a 1999 graduate of Middletown High School. Melissa was an adventurer; she enjoyed kayaking, tubing, and traveling. She was also an avid reader. Melissa was born with a true servant’s heart, always blessing others with her gifts before thinking of herself. Once she was unable to work, Melissa devoted her life to charity work in Las Vegas. She was a truly beautiful soul and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she blessed. In addition to her parents, Melissa is survived by two brothers, Joshua L. Gipe husband of Jessie of Columbus, OH, and Jonathan A. Jumper of Middletown; two sisters, Desiree L. Miller wife of J.T. of Harrisburg and Sara M. Gipe of Middletown; her boyfriend, Tony Garcia of Las Vegas; maternal grandfather, James L. Peiffer of Mount Penn; paternal grandparents, Nevin B., Sr. and Ruth Ann Conley of York; nieces, Jenna R. Gipe and Jailyn R. Gipe; four aunts; five uncles; numerous cousins; ex-husband, Keith McKeever; and many extended family members and friends. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at 11 AM in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Lois K. Van Orden, officiating. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. Friends will be received for the viewing on Tuesday in the church from 10 AM until time of the service. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to have memorial contributions made in Melissa’s memory to the Lupus Foundation of America, Philadelphia Tri-State Chapter, 101 Greenwood Avenue, Suite 200, Jenkintown, PA 19046.
