Marguerite Reichenbaugh Obituary

Marguerite “Peggy” Hoffman Reichenbaugh, 85, of Hummelstown, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016, at home with her family by her side. Born in Hershey on June 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Mary Marguerite Krow Hoffman. Peggy retired in 1993 from Lower Dauphin High School where she was a secretary. She was a 1949 graduate of Hershey High School, and a 1952 graduate of the Central Pennsylvania Business School. Peggy was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church of Union Deposit and its Zion’s Women and Bible Study groups. She enjoyed spending time with her Card Club, who had all been best friends since elementary school. Peggy loved spending time with children. She was a former volunteer at the Nye Elementary School where second graders would read stories to her. Family was always first with Peggy. Throughout the years, she was her children’s biggest sports and school activity fan. Peggy especially loved babysitting her grandchildren and children of family friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice “Marshall” Austin Reichenbaugh, Jr., on August 6, 1996; a son, Thomas Marshall Reichenbaugh, on June 10, 1994; a sister, Ethel Elizabeth Garman; and two brothers, John Robert Hoffman and Charles Richard Hoffman. She is survived by two sons, J. Michael Reichenbaugh husband of Luann of Sykesville, MD, and M. Scott Reichenbaugh husband of Annette of Fairfax, VA; two daughters, Susan R. Sherbin wife of David of Richboro, VA, and Gail R. Snyder wife of Rahn of Hummelstown; six grandchildren, Dustin Scott Sherbin, Alexander Thomas Sherbin, Dustin Myles Snyder, Katelyn Louise Snyder, Jordan Marie Reichenbaugh, and Jacob Thomas Snyder; and one great grandson, Isaac Milford Fry. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 7, 2016, at 10 AM in the Zion Lutheran Church of Union Deposit, 5 West Main Street, Hershey, with The Rev. Ursula E. Schreffler, officiating. Relatives and friends will be received following the service at the church and at the luncheon at the Hummelstown American Legion. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Zion Lutheran Church of Union Deposit, 5 West Main Street, Hershey, PA 17033.
