Jean Cochran

Jean E. Cochran, 69, of Susquehanna Township, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016, in the Community General Hospital, Lower Paxton Township. Born in Hershey on October 13, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Ivan C. and Genevieve F. Eshleman Porter. She resided in Chambers Hill and attended the Chambers Hill EUB/United Methodist Church. She was a member of the first graduating class of Central Dauphin East High School in 1964. Jean worked for various insurance companies in Harrisburg and West Chester as an administrative assistant. She taught Sunday school and vacation bible school at Penbrook Church of God, where she also served on church council. Jean loved her family, including her husband of 51 years, B. McClain “Mick” Cochran, Jr. whom she married on April 24, 1965; son, Marc Brendan Cochran and his wife Louise of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Michael, Tyler, and Kira; sister, Carolyn M. Boyer and husband Steven of Duncannon; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Ivan Porter, Sr. Private services will be held by the family. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Township. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in her memory to the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc., 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
