Corrine “Rene” E. Sheffer Felty, 76, of Chambers Hill, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016, in The Middletown Home, with her family by her side. Born in Paxtang on January 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur A. and Beatrice Spahr Sheffer. Rene was an executive secretary for the former Harrisburg State Hospital. She was a 1957 graduate of Central Dauphin High School. Rene devoted her life to caring for her home and family. Rene is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth E. Felty, whom she married on June 4, 1960; a daughter, Karen L. Alleman wife of Jack E. of Halifax; a son, Robert K. Felty husband of Lori A. of Chambers Hill; a brother, Elden Sheffer of Hershey; a sister, Debby Wilson wife of Larry of Bressler; four grandchildren, Hannah M. and Lindsey N. Alleman, and Benton R. and Kyle R. Felty; and one great grandson, Malachi Alleman. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Dan G. Gilbert, Chaplain of The Middletown Home, officiating. Interment will be in Ebenzer Cemetery, Middletown. Viewings will be in the funeral home on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 6 to 7 PM and again on Friday from 10 AM until time of the service.
