Carolyn J. Frascella Obituary

Carolyn J. Miller Frascella, 63, of Middletown, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hershey on June 21, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Martin L. and Janet Eby Miller. Carolyn retired from Harrisburg Hospital, where she was a lead medical lab technician. She was a 1971 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School before continuing her education at Harrisburg Area Community College. Carolyn was an active member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral, Harrisburg; volunteering much of her time in various ways, but primarily as a member of the Altar Guild. She enjoyed reading, cross stitch, and gardening. Carolyn’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt; she will be deeply missed by all those who knew her. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Michael J. Frascella, whom she married on October 12, 1974; son, David M. Frascella husband of Deidra M. of Mechanicsburg; daughter, Megan E. Birch wife of Timothy R. of Hummelstown; sisters, Margaret A. Messner wife of David S. of Camp Hill and Miriam E. Risser wife of Donald R. of Bainbridge; brother, Kenneth E. Miller husband of Suzanne L. of Camp Hill; grandchildren, Ashton G. and Hudson C. Frascella, and Martin T. Birch; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 1 PM in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral, 221 North Front Street, Harrisburg, with The Very Rev. Churchill G. Pinder, officiating. Free parking is available next to the church in the PHFA garage off River Street. Family and friends will be received at a reception following the service. A private inurnment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township, Lebanon County. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Carolyn’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 112 Sipe Avenue, Hummelstown, PA 17036, or to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral, 221 North Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
