Joan V. Bair

JOAN VIRGINIA (LLOYD) BAIR, 80 of Airville, PA, died on Saturday, September 3, 2016 in her home in the loving presence of her family. Married 62 years, she was the cherished wife of George N. Bair. Born on February 3, 1936 in Cardiff, MD, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert and Virginia (Boyle) Lloyd. Joan was a member of the Kennard Dale High School Class of 1954. She grew up as a city girl, fell in love with a farm boy and became an amazing farmer’s wife. With George she learned to milk cows and drive tractors. She contributed greatly to the farm while upholding her role as Mom with their three boys. She was a member of the Pine Grove Presbyterian Church where she was the director of the youth choir, sang in the adult choir and was responsible for the church Thanksgiving supper for many years. She was an accomplished soloist and sang for numerous special occasions. Joan was a true perfectionist, always orderly and neat. She loved flowers and gardening, crazy movies and cooking. Joan’s cooking could feed armies, there was always plenty and all were welcomed. She was loved and treasured by everyone who knew her. She is survived by: 3 sons- David Bair of Airville, PA Dean Bair of Provincetown, MA Daniel Bair of Delta, PA 4 grandchildren- Michelle Denton, Airville, PA Charity Bair, NJ Chandra Horton, Windsor, PA Jessica Warner, Savannah GA 6 great grandchildren- Ashley, Darian, Bailey, Layne, L.J., Sidney 1 great great grandchild- Mason 3 siblings- Bobby Lloyd Gail Snodgrass Sandy Scarborough And a special cousin, nieces, and nephews. A service celebrating her life will be held later this fall. Details will be announced. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, 4263 Delta Rd, Airville, PA 17302.
