James Douglas Evans

JAMES DOUGLAS EVANS, 64 years, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in his Street, Maryland home. He was the husband of Verla Mae (Thomas) Evans. Born on November 4, 1951 in Cumberland, MD, he was a son of Gilda (Chiapetta) Evans and the late Luman O. Evans. Jim was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1971-1975. A loving grandfather, he treasured spending time with his grandchildren. Faith in God was a very important part of his life, and he spent many hours studying and reading his bible. Attending North Harford Baptist Church, he had served as a deacon, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. Jim had hoped that his life would reflect the Glory of the Living God Additional surviving family members are: Three children- Matthew Evans and his wife, Jennifer of Delta, PA Mark Evans and his wife, Harmony of Jarrettsville, MD Hanna Schneider and her husband, Jonathan of Forest Hill, MD Six grandchildren: Andrew, Sarah, Phoebe, Westley, Emma and Heidi Three brothers-Jonathan Evans, Donald Evans and David Evans A brother-in-law, Norm Thomas Visitation will be held in North Harford Baptist Church 4008 Old Federal Hill Road, Jarrettsville, MD on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in his church with his pastor, Reverend John W. Manry officiating. Interment with military honors will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 10:45 a.m. in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117.
