DELILAH MARGUERITE (SCOTT) BROWN, 95 of Delta, PA, died on Friday, August 5, 2016 in her home. She was the wife of the late William Harold Brown, married almost 61 years until his passing on August 25, 2007. Mrs. Brown was born on June 29, 1921 in Fawn Grove, the only child of the late Bradford Winfield and Allie May (Orr) Scott. She was a lifetime resident of the Fawn Grove/Delta, PA area. Delilah graduated Valedictorian from the former Fawn Township High School in 1939. Formerly employed by the York County Tuberculosis Society as a secretary after graduating from the Thompson Business School in York, PA., she also served as secretary for the former Fawn Grove Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Brown acquired numerous awards for her floral and gardening talents at local and regional flower shows and fairs in addition to serving several terms as president of the Southern York County Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, homemaking, keeping the farm books and researching genealogy as well as local history. She was a member of the Faith Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Fawn Grove where she had served faithfully and was well known for the flower arrangements she provided for countless years. She is survived by: 2 children- Stephen H. Brown and his wife, Lynn of Delta Beverly Ann Simmons and her husband, Wade Simmons, Sr. of Fawn Grove 4 grandchildren- Wesley Earl Brown of Oak Harbor, WA Cynthia Marie White of Dover, PA Matthew Scott Simmons of Fawn Grove, PA Michelle Renee Simmons of Lakewood, CO 3 great grandchildren- Matthew Culler David and Daniel Brown She was preceded in death by her son, William Scott Brown. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St. Delta, PA and on Monday, August 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Faith Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 405 N. Market Street, Fawn Grove, PA. 17321 Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at her church, co-officiated by Reverend Shane M. Bennett and Reverend Dr. Douglas Winward. Interment will be in the Quaker Cemetery, Fawn Grove, PA In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Orthodox Presbyterian Church at the above address.
